Audi Unveils 2014 RS7

Audi hit a homerun when they released their A7/S7 sportback sedans, creating a new four door that was the envy of other car companies. And now they’ve made magic happen again.
Audi unveiled the 2014 Audi RS7 at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show and it’s a showstopper. The 2014 RS7 comes with a 560-horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that will push this sedan to a top speed of 189 miles per hour. That’s more horsepower than in the V10 R8, which comes in at a respectable 520 horses.

The RS7 has a blistering fast 0-62 mph time as well, needing only 3.9 seconds to achieve this feat thanks to the 553 pound-feet of torque available. The base RS7 comes with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, but customers can purchase the dynamic package plus which will remove the governor and let the family sedan hit top speed. Now you can take the kids to soccer and have the fastest car in the parking lot.

The all new RS7 is pretty economical as well thanks to it’s cylinder-on-demand system, which helps it get up to 25 mpg. The cylinder-on-demand system works by deactivating up to four cylinders by closing their valves during normal everyday driving. But once you push the pedal to the floor, the engine automatically kicks from four-cylinder to eight-cylinder mode in a few hundredths of a second.

All this power is managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission that’s coupled with Audi’s famous Quattro all wheel drive system, making it easier to keep all four tires planted firmly on the ground. Audi, you’ve done it again. Can’t wait to see this car in the wild. Check out some of the pictures of this beast below, and let us know what you think.
